The Religion of the Isle.
The Seven.
The Skaran are a highly religious people, and almost the worship of the Seven is considered part of normal life. Few worship any one god over any of the others, as they are all ordained, however shrines to each separately can be found just as often as temples dedicated to all of them as a pantheon.
Alvandia (The River Mother)
The great mother, from whom all flows. Her river is the endless flow of the world, from it all where born, and to it all will return when their end comes. Above all matters, she is the creator of the Gods, as much as she is the creator of us all. While she is worshiped, she is above such petty matters and only the greatest of deeds will ever attract her attention.
Askan (The Storm Warrior)
A Warrior born of humanity, who rose up against the forces of the Ebon, daring to fight against the extinction of the race he loved so much. He is always portrayed with a spear of lightning, the perfection of the race he came to save. Intelligent, compassionate, brave and honourable he is all that a Skaran aspires to become.
Atenios (The Wild Rager)
A wild man, some say half beast who has a love for tinkering and playing with creation itself. He is the force of nature personified, a rage deep and endless yet with a joy for life that can not ever be dimmed. He is a creature far from civilisation and is often worshiped by those who brave his wild places.
Elangtia (The Great Gift)
The wife of Askan, she is the mistress of heath and home, and it is down to her that humanity has the simple principles of homestead, marriage. She is the provider of horses, her sacred fruit is the apple. In deference to her, no Skaran will ride a horse into battle.
Korandia (The Mistress of Ravens)
Maddened by events during the exile, The Mistress of Ravens is as likely to harm as to help those who seek her aid. She is the capriciousness of luck, and the master of dark secrets. It is said that the Ravens who are her messengers bring back the secrets they overhear to her ears, even going as far as to pluck them from the heads of warriors who have fallen on the battlefield. It is said she is privy to mystical and magical secrets beyond the knowledge of all but her most devout followers, who are as insane as she is.
Lagetan (The Bloodied Rune)
The sage and wise Lagetan is beloved by the Brethren as he created the written word, and a means of preserving secrets and histories. It is said anything written in his alphabet becomes his personal knowledge. He is also the patron of the Mana=Scared, as his knowledge of magic and the power of runes make him the patron of all who wield mystical power. He is sometimes portrayed as Korandias keeper, or husband.
Ogimos (The Final Watcher)
This final watcher, his name is seldom spoken for it is said that he will come when called. A warrior who once rallied against the god of death, and in his rage ended up replacing him. His sacred duty is now to watch those who cross over from this life to the next, till he finds some other fool into taking his place, forever between worlds, stuck between the dead and the paradise they pass on to.
